HairMax Laser Comb

The HairMax Laser Comb is a new hair loss treatment that uses low-level lasers to help stimulate hair growth and slow hair loss. It can be used safely by both men and women in the comfort of one’s own home.

How it works

The HairMax Laser Comb works by utilizing low-level light therapy to stimulate the scalp and increase blood flow to the area. Low-light therapy such as the kind used with laser combs has been shown to improve cell function, and while it sounds rather high-tech it isn’t as new as it seems. Research into the effects of low-light therapy on hair regrowth began in the 1960s, and clinical trials since then have suggested that the therapy really does work. The laser comb is very easy to use, and is a quick and painless way to curb the problem of hair loss.

There are a few reasons why the laser comb and similar therapies have proven to be so effective in stimulating hair growth, the biggest of which is due to the ease of which low-level lasers can penetrate tissue and stimulate cells to absorb more oxygen. These well-oxygenated cells are then more capable of delivering more nutrients to all areas of the body. The cells in the scalp can obviously benefit from this therapy, which results in healthier hair and improved hair growth and even regrowth. The laser also improves protein synthesis in the cells, which further contributes to hair growth and hair regrowth.

While the effects of low-light therapy are supported by clinical trials, the success of the HairMax Laser Comb is dependent on several factors such as the wavelength of the laser being used and the length of the treatment itself. As with all medical treatments, the rate of success also varies from one individual to the next. Hair loss can be caused by a number of factors, so obviously no two cases are ever alike.

Laser hair loss treatment used to be administered through the use of a hood that contained laser emitting diodes. The hood was placed over the head, and the diodes could stimulate different parts of the scalp simultaneously. However, the HairMax Laser Comb that is currently available lives up to its name by providing a similar treatment in a hand-held unit that is not much larger than a comb or brush. It is simply combed over the scalp just like any hairbrush to provide low-light stimulation to any and all areas of the scalp.
